Character Profile......Jason Shadwick

Jason first appeared in Brookside with his father Greg in 1998. Greg was a builder and had his own business “ Shadwick and Son “ and Jason was Greg’s partner when they were employed to carry out some building alterations for Elanor Kitson at her new office on Brookside Parade.

Jason soon had an admirer, Katie Rogers who worked for Elanor, although at the time Jason already had a girlfriend Katrina, who was a frequent visitor and a distraction for Jason, something which Greg found annoying.

When Greg decided to buy No six Brookside Close, Jason moved in with him along with his mother Margi and sisters Nikki and Emily. Jason soon became a bit of a hero when he was involved in the rescue of Kylie Stanlow after the explosion on Brookside Parade.

Jason and KatrinaAlthough Greg was proud of his son, his pride turned to anger when Jason discovered Katrina was pregnant and persuaded her to have an abortion, something Greg couldn’t understand. In the resulting argument Jason decided it would be best if he moved out, which he did for a while, before Margi convinced him to move back in again and make up with Greg.

Jason and KatieAfter Katrina’s abortion her relationship with Jason became strained and they split up for a while. Jason was not on the loose for long as he was soon dating Katie, who was very keen to take Katrina’s place. Although Katie was besotted with Jason, she was unimpressed when he started going out with Katrina again, and although prepared to share him for a while decided to dump him when she realised he preferred Katrina.

Jason proposes to KatrinaA few montha later Jason proposed to Katrina over a carton of fish and chips, she made him wait just a few hours before giving her answer. Jason was delighted that Katrina had agreed to marry him but decided not to hold an engagement party while his sister Nikki was still getting over her rape ordeal.

Actor Profile.........Vincent Price

Vinny is an only child and lives at home with his parents and his ten year old collie Ben. Brookside is the first TV programme he’s appeared in and is able to achieve realistic building results on screen thanks to his dad’s hints and tips as a builder.

His memories as a child include climbing a tree in his uncle’s back garden only to end up falling out of the tree into a paddling pool below, fully clothed. However one of his better child hood memories are of his dad, when he used to think he could see the whole world by sitting on his shoulders.

One thing Vinny dislikes about Brookside is having to wear a jacket when he would rather wear a T-Shirt all year round, so when he gets the opportunity he leaves the jacket in the car.

His first career was a Electronics Engineer, but he later decided to concentrate on his singing and acting, where he spent 9 years at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Liverpool as a trained singer. He has appeared in various musicals including Godspell, and soon decided that Show Business would be the career for him. His hobbies and interests still include Electrical Engineering and computer programming making him the number one computer advisor for the Brookie cast.

He also enjoys fixes everything from Video’s to HI-fi’s for his friends and family. Vinny prefers old Tv programmes such as Randall and Hopkirk Deceased and Magnum with Tom Selleck, with his favourite being anything science fiction to escape from reality.

During his spare time he enjoys relaxing in a dark room with his feet up and a cup of tea, listening to his favourite music such as Sting and U2 which he finds relaxing rather then something that has a beat to it.
