Character
Profile......Jason Shadwick
Jason first appeared in
Brookside with his father Greg in 1998. Greg was a builder
and had his own business “ Shadwick and Son “ and Jason was
Greg’s partner when they were employed to carry out some
building alterations for Elanor Kitson at her new office on
Brookside Parade.
Jason soon had an admirer, Katie
Rogers who worked for Elanor, although at the time Jason
already had a girlfriend Katrina, who was a frequent visitor
and a distraction for Jason, something which Greg found
annoying.
When Greg decided to buy No six
Brookside Close, Jason moved in with him along with his
mother Margi and sisters Nikki and Emily. Jason soon became
a bit of a hero when he was involved in the rescue of Kylie
Stanlow after the explosion on Brookside Parade.
Although Greg was proud of his son, his pride
turned to anger when Jason discovered Katrina was pregnant
and persuaded her to have an abortion, something Greg
couldn’t understand. In the resulting argument Jason decided
it would be best if he moved out, which he did for a while,
before Margi convinced him to move back in again and make up
with Greg.
After
Katrina’s abortion her relationship with Jason became
strained and they split up for a while. Jason was not on the
loose for long as he was soon dating Katie, who was very
keen to take Katrina’s place. Although Katie was besotted
with Jason, she was unimpressed when he started going out
with Katrina again, and although prepared to share him for a
while decided to dump him when she realised he preferred
Katrina.
A few montha later Jason proposed to Katrina over
a carton of fish and chips, she made him wait just a few
hours before giving her answer. Jason was delighted that
Katrina had agreed to marry him but decided not to hold an
engagement party while his sister Nikki was still getting
over her rape ordeal.

Brookside is the first TV programme he’s appeared in and is

being anything science fiction to escape from reality.
During his spare time he enjoys
relaxing in a dark room with his feet up and a cup of tea,
listening to his favourite music such as Sting and U2 which
he finds relaxing rather then something that has a beat to
it.
